Words

Words I would love to hear:  "Hi Aim.. it's me, Mom." I miss conversations with my mom. I think back and wish that I had asked her more questions about her childhood, about what she still hoped for and dreamed about in life, about how to be a good wife and mother... so many questions.

If your mom is alive and you can communicate.. don't take that privilege lightly. If you aren't communicating, start. If the relationship is strained or broken.. fix it.

I have faith that my mom will regain her speech.. I will be able to ask those questions. For now, I just pray and I cherish every moment that I have with her...  You should do the same.

Prayers, Please..

I have been in Texas for three weeks now... I spent a few days working in Amarillo and seeing friends and then I came to San Antonio to spend time with Mom and Dad. Dad has had to be out of town for work. Mom and I like to watch movies, window shop, and just sit together, doing nothing at all. I am so blessed to be able to spend this time with her.

Tomorrow, I will head back to Colorado.  I've been told that a cold front is moving in there and that I'd better be ready to bundle up (it's currently 70 here in Schertz and the predicted high tomorrow in Lake George is 31, EEEKKK!) I'm ready to see my husband.. he's truly a saint for letting me stay gone for so long. I am really looking forward to seeing him!!

I'd like ask that you pray with us.. My mom has been experiencing some pretty intense pain on her post stroke, affected side. I've done some research and most articles point in the direction of nerve pain, it's common after you've experienced a stroke. There really isn't rhyme or reason for what triggers the intensity or location. Tomorrow she will see a chiropractor and we are hoping for some relief.  We NEED to see relief. The pain has be almost constant for the last two weeks. We continue to trust God and have faith in His healing power..

Thank you friends.

Dear Mom

Dear Mom,

Not a minute goes by that I don't thank God that you are alive and celebrating another year of life. For as long as I can remember, you have been my best friend, the one that I have always been able to talk to and you always listen with an open heart. This is still true today.

Our ability to converse as we used to has faced some changes over the last year and half.. but it hasn't changed our relationship. Words may not come easy for us, but it's the touch of your hand, your understanding smile, the way that you cry with me when I cry, and the way that you look me in the eye and speak volumes when the words simply do not come. We both understand that this season that we are living in is just that.. a season. I have NO DOUBT that your speech will be restored...that your complete health will be restored. It's a promise from God and HIS word never returns void. He said in Jeremiah 30:17,that He will restore your health and heal your wounds. We know that God is able. I have heard you tell others that very thing when they were fighting a battle for their healing.

You are such a blessing to all of us around you. There is a compassion that you have for anyone that you see hurting. I love to hear you pray, it's so powerful. But that is the way that you've always been!

I love you more than words can ever say.. you chose to be my mom and you forever changed my life. Happy Birthday Momma.. I can't wait to see what God has in store for your life this year.
